HireVue’s Digital Interviewing Technology Integrates with Avature’s Industry-Leading CRM to Help Employers Source and Identify the Right Candidates Sooner
SALT LAKE CITY – May 1, 2013 – HireVue, provider of amazing new ways to interview – through social, mobile and on demand technology – and Avature, a leading provider of innovative Web 2.0 talent acquisition solutions delivered as SaaS, announced details of their strategic partnership and solution integration, which provides employers with a cutting-edge approach to improving sourcing and recruiting strategies.
HireVue and Avature have teamed up to develop a next-generation integrated solution that combines the best of HireVue’s digital recruiting technology platform with the robust functionality of Avature’s leading candidate relationship management (CRM) solution. The integration creates a more efficient, more effective process that changes the way employers source talent and enhances the experience for candidates, positively impacting employment brand and future workforce strategies.
Today’s employers are challenged to conduct job candidate sourcing and screening in a recruiting landscape that is constantly evolving. Once employers cut through the noise and connect with candidates, they embark on a lengthy recruiting process, where candidates apply and participate in countless phone and in-person interviews and assessments, only to often discover that the candidate isn’t right for the position.
Now Avature CRM users are able to schedule and review digital interviews with selected candidates using the HireVue platform, helping employers avoid the time- and resource-consuming traditional interview process to quickly target and connect with the right candidates. Avature users can access the mobile, social and on demand digital interviewing solutions – including OpenVue™, HireVue’s revolutionary social interview app – directly from their CRM with a single sign-on process. Through the integrated solution, candidates introduce themselves to employers instantly, validating and bringing their skills and accomplishments to life whenever and however it’s convenient for them, and much sooner in the talent acquisition cycle.
“HireVue shares our commitment to disrupting the status quo of recruitment to align with current communication trends and eliminate inefficiencies in the talent acquisition process,” said Dimitri Boylan, CEO of Avature. “Through our partnership, we have combined the power of two game-changing recruitment technologies, allowing employers to find qualified candidates and make better informed hiring decisions much faster.”
“Digital interviewing technology has truly changed the way that recruiters, hiring managers and job candidates communicate, and how employers engage with the talent that will help their organization gain a competitive advantage. Our cutting-edge social, mobile and on demand digital interview solutions have revolutionized the process and set new expectations for a unique and fair candidate experience, and an objective and efficient employee screening process,” said Mark Newman, founder and CEO of HireVue. “We’re excited to partner with Avature, and to combine our solution with the power of an industry-leading CRM to help employers nurture, identify and engage candidates quickly, enabling them to put exceptional talent to work for their companies right away.”
HireVue will be exhibiting at the 2013 Avature Annual User Conference, from Monday, May 6 through Wednesday May 8, 2013 in Chicago. Attendees can learn more about the integrated solution and how HireVue’s award-winning digital interviewing platform has transformed recruiting and screening during a special presentation at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7. HireVue’s experts will also be available in the exhibit room where attendees can participate in hands-on digital interview demos and hear more about how Avature and HireVue are disrupting stale sourcing and screening strategies.

One-Third of American Workers Describe Their Most Recent Job Interview as “Love at First Sight”
Nearly as Many Candidates Classify Their Last Interview Process as “Playing Hard to Get”
SALT LAKE CITY – Feb. 7, 2013 – There is no doubt that the job interview process is like courtship, from the first date to the follow-up to the long-term relationship if the compatibility is right. HireVue, the leading on-demand digital interviewing platform, today announced results of an Ipsos Public Affairs survey revealing that one-third of American workers experienced instant attraction in their most recent job interview, calling it “love at first sight”.
Survey Results:
-
35 percent of women and 28 percent of men said they instantly fell in love with the opportunity for which they most recently interviewed
-
One-third (30 percent) of working Americans likened their last interview process to a game of “playing hard to get”
-
One in five (20 percent) of survey indicated the interview process was “hot at first, but then fizzled fast”
-
18 percent revealed it dragged on, resembling “a three-month affair”
“Interviewing is a courtship to one of the most important relationships for Americans – their job,” said Kevin Marasco, chief marketing officer at HireVue. “In the job interview process, both falling in love instantly and playing hard to get may cloud a candidate’s judgment in assessing the opportunity at hand. Instead, job seekers should strike an objective middle ground, treat their resume like an online dating profile and the interview process like a blind date.”
Hiring managers and recruiters nationally who are looking for long-term relationships with their new hires – and are mindful of the costs of bad hires - should consider the following:
-
Does your interview process sell your company culture and the intangibles of what the position has to offer in a long-term relationship – beyond the basic of a compensation package?
-
Are you managing the expectations of the candidate throughout the interview process?
-
Are you interviewing with “love at first sight” in mind, ensuring you hire talent that will be with your company long term, or are you being non-committal, leaving the possibility that the love affair will fizzle fast?
Much like a dating relationship in today’s digital world, candidates on the other hand should expect their potential employer to research their history online. HireVue’s Chief Executive Officer David Bradford advises that job seekers can expect recruiters or hiring managers to check social media for:
-
The top ten searches for your name on Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask or other search engines
-
The number of Twitter followers you have and last time you tweeted and what you’re tweeting
-
The size and quality of your LinkedIn community
-
The number and quality of recommendations you have on LinkedIn
-
The content posted on your Facebook profile
-
Your Klout score

Survey Methodology
These are some of the findings of an Ipsos poll conducted February 1- 4, 2013. For the survey, a national sample of 1,005 adults aged 18 and older from Ipsos’ U.S. online panel were interviewed online. Weighting was then employed to balance demographics and ensure that the sample's composition reflects that of the U.S. adult population according to Census data and to provide results intended to approximate the sample universe. A survey with an unweighted probability sample of 1,005 and a 100% response rate would have an estimated margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points 19 times out of 20 of what the results would have been had the entire adult population in the United States had been polled. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error, and measurement error.

HireVue Equips Hiring Managers in the War for Tech Talent with the Introduction of CodeVue™
-Cloud-based Digital Recruiting Platform Helps Rapidly Identify, Engage and Screen Technical Talent through Online Interviews
SALT LAKE CITY – Jan. 24, 2013 – The war for technical talent wages on with record demand for high-performing employees far surpassing the availability of qualified candidates to meet this demand. Information technology research company Gartner projects 2013 IT spending to hit $3.7 trillion. This increased investment has led to single-digit unemployment for IT professionals, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, making it extremely difficult for companies to recruit and hire technical talent. The challenge lies in identifying and evaluating complex technical skills, a task that is especially difficult for recruiters and HR leaders who are often not technically proficient, often translating to bad hires. HireVue is introducing a solution to these challenges head-on with the launch of CodeVue™, the world’s first cloud-based digital recruiting platform built to rapidly and effectively identify, screen and assess technical talent.
“As the demand for technical talent proliferates across industries, the need to evaluate their skills has become increasingly challenging,” explains Mark Newman, chief innovation officer, HireVue. “Recruiters often lack understanding of programming languages to properly assess a candidate. Additionally, C-level executives lack the time and resources to commit to the dramatically increasing demand of reviewing each candidate applying for a position. CodeVue™, integrated into HireVue’s digital platform, eliminates all of these problems by delivering an interactive, consistent, convenient and data-driven interview process for recruiters, hiring managers and candidates alike.”
"Our top priority is to deliver innovative solutions to help our clients further automate their sales teams and front office operations," said Jen Kindell, director of operations,360vantage.com. "Since our pace of development is at an all-time high, we needed a better way to quickly identify and evaluate technical skills as we continue to build out our team of talented engineers and developers. HireVue CodeVue is helping us do just that, by allowing us to evaluate a candidate's ability to code early on in the process, ensuring we're spending time with only the best candidates with the best skills. This will improve our time to hire, and help us quickly build products that give our clients a competitive advantage."
HireVue CodeVue™ enables candidates to more conveniently and expressively showcase their coding abilities through a series of challenges during the digital interviewing process. Recruiters and hiring managers can review candidates’ validated coding results (including scores, score details, and raw and executed code) as well as video responses to behavioral-based interview questions. The online interview responses, code samples and scores can be shared with other members of the hiring team for rapid collaboration, feedback and data-driven decisions. Candidates are afforded a better opportunity to be heard by showcasing their coding skills as well as how they solve problems and the pace at which they can process and complete work - all through HireVue’s social and video-enabled capabilities, and all on their own time.
A core benefit to companies deploying CodeVue™ is making smarter IT recruitment and hiring decisions. A Center for American Progress study finds that the average cost to replace an employee is between 10 and 30 percent of the employee’s annual salary. HireVue’s digital platform helps fight these costs by allowing hiring managers to more accurately and effectively screen job candidates – from technical competency to cultural fit.
